A Poulsbo man remains hospitalized in Seattle after suffering life-threatening injuries when he ran his Porsche into a telephone pole on Bainbridge Island Sunday night.

The force of the crash totaled the car and broke the pole.

William Eisenhardt, 51, will likely face vehicular assault and reckless driving charges following the crash on the 3700 block of Pleasant Beach Drive. A 28-year-old passenger was injured in the wreck but has since been released from the hospital, the Bainbridge Island review reported.

The Bainbridge Island police believe excessive speed and alcohol contributed to the crash.

A message left at Harborview Medical Center to check Eisenhardt's condition was not immediately returned.
