SILVERDALE — A drunken Poulsbo man was arrested Wednesday for theft and assault after trying to steal a pair of bib overalls used for snow skiing and then tussling with store employees.

Kitsap County sheriff's reports said the suspect, 21, was seen by store employees taking the snow clothes into a changing room and then leaving the store, Kitsap Sports, 10903 Myrhe Place NW.

Two employees stopped the man and made him sit down and remove his shoes. He then attempted to flee and a fight ensued.

The suspect was booked into the Kitsap County jail for investigation of third-degree theft, and two counts of assault, reports said.

A deputy described the man as "extremely intoxicated."

One of the employees skinned his knee in the scuffle.

The overalls were smudged with some dirt but were returned to the store.
