POULSBO — A fire Tuesday afternoon left a Poulsbo house damaged by smoke, but the residence did not sustain structural damage.

Poulsbo firefighters were called to the blaze at the house on Bond Road NE near Big Valley Road NE at about 12:22 p.m. when the owner arrived home to find a fire in his kitchen, according to a statement from the Poulsbo Fire Department.

No one was injured.

Firefighers used a heat sensing device to locate the fire, which appeared to have started in the kitchen, near the refrigerator, the statement said.

The Kitsap County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
