SILVERDALE — Patricia Graf-Hoke has been named executive general manager of the Kitsap Peninsula Visitor & Convention Bureau.
The Kitsap resident is the president of a strategic marketing and communication company that most notably did public relations and marketing for the city of Bremerton. She's well-known in the community, having served on a number of local and regional boards. She's also a supporter of small business and the arts, according to a press release from the visitors and convention bureau.
She was selected from a field of 63 applicants and will begin immediately. She replaces Grant Griffin who vacated the director's position in July.
"Patricia brings a unique mix of business and strategic marketing experience to the KPVBC and she shares the board's commitment to help the county realize its potential for tourism as a major part of our economic development efforts," said Samuel Askew, acting board president.
The visitors and convention bureau is charged with promoting Kitsap as a tourist destination.
"The visitor and convention business, from promoting day trips to week long conferences, represents huge economic potential to our county and to the hundreds of businesses and the thousands of jobs here dependent on local and out-of-area tourists," Graf-Hoke said. "Tourism is a low environment impact industry that preserves our unique quality of life while generating much needed revenues for business and our local governments."
