Those who thought the closures of the Hood Canal Bridge were over, think again.

After being closed for a month this spring, and periodic overnight closures since, The state Department of Transportation plans to close the bridge to traffic for three 90-minute periods Thursday and Friday.

The closures will take place between 10 p.m. Thursday and 4 a.m. Friday, according to a statement from the department.

The closures will allow crews to install six, three-inch bolts in the bridge's draw span.

The installation of the bolts requires the east half of the lift spans to be raised, with two bolts to be set at three spots along the draw span assembly. Exact times of the closures is not known, the department noted.

Major construction on the bridge was completed June 3, but additional work is scheduled to continue through the end of the year.
