A 57-year-old Suquamish man suspected of robbing Westsound Bank in Poulsbo was arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail this morning, according to the Poulsbo Police Department.

The suspect was placed in custody by Poulsbo Police officers late Thursday night after information surfaced regarding the man, according to department Deputy Chief Shawn Delaney. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Westsound Bank, located on the corner of State Route 305 and Viking Way in Poulsbo, was robbed Tuesday afternoon when a man entered and passed a note to a teller, demanding cash, Poulsbo Police reported. The man said he needed money to feed his five kids. He was not armed, and was given an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities from several area jurisdictions joined in a search for the man Tuesday afternoon.

Washington State Patrol, Suquamish Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in the arrest.
