Human rights council seeks nominations
KITSAP COUNTY – The Kitsap County Council for Human Rights seeks nominations for the 2008 Wall of Fame Recognition Awards. Annual awards recognize individuals, community groups and organizations leading Kitsap County’s human rights efforts.
Awards are given in the following categories: youth, adult, program/organization and life achievement. Winners are recognized Dec. 5 at the 18th annual Kitsap County Rights Conference at the Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton.
The Kitsap County Council for Human Rights formed in 1989 after a cross-burning incident.

The council meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the John Horsley Community Center at Island Lake Park, located at 1087 NW Island Lake Road.
