WASHINGTON, D.C. – Peninsulas’ 211 has been selected for the 2008 Best of Bremerton Award in the Information & Referral Services category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA). Peninsulas’ 211, formerly United Way InfoLink, provides comprehensive information and referral services for Kitsap, Clallam, Jefferson, Mason, Grays Harbor and Pacific counties. Supported by Kitsap, Clallam, Mason, Grays Harbor United Ways and Jefferson County Good Neighbors Fund, 211 is an easy-to-remember, three-digit number providing local residents needed health and human services information. The call center is located at Kitsap Mental Health and is a partnership with Kitsap Mental Health’s Crisis Clinic and is one of six call centers that provide information and referral services throughout Washington state.
The USLBA “Best of Local Business” award program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies it believes have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.
The USLBA is based in Washington, D.C., and is funded by local businesses operating in towns, large and small, across America. The purpose of USLBA is to promote local business through public relations, marketing and advertising.
