KINGSTON — The Port of Kingston will close its marina to all vessels during select hours Aug. 18-22.

The closure will allow divers to swim safely in the water as work on the marina dredging project begins.

Estimate closure times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 18, and 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 19-22.

The port expects traffic will be allowed Aug. 19-22 between noon and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. the following mornings.

The ramp and fuel dock will be closed as well during the scheduled closure.

No vessels, including sail or paddle, will not be allowed to enter, exit, or operate in the marina, slip or channel area.

The area near the fishing pier and barge will also be closed.

The Washington State Ferry system will not be affected by these closures.

Contact port manager David Malone for more information, 360-297-3545.
