The North Kitsap High volleyball players attended a team camp at Western Washington University July 9-12. The camp was run by Western’s head volleyball coach Diane Flick. The NK players spent more than nine hours per day on training, drills and tournament sessions. NK, headed by coach Tim French and assistant coach Tara Curtis, finished the tournament in second place, after a tie-breaker. NK volleyball player Taylor Ottomano was invited to attend an elite volleyball camp at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I. The camp is run by Bob Schneck, head volleyball coach of University of Rhode Island. The elite camp is by invitation only and participants were selected to attend based on applications and a skills DVD. Ottomano, a rising junior at North, is one of 12 girls invited to attend the camp which runs July 24-27.
