POULSBO — A teacher in the North Kitsap School District is facing charges of sexual misconduct. North Kitsap High science teacher Bill Thompson, 55, was charged Monday in Kitsap County District Court with fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation and two counts of sexual communication with a minor.

He is on paid administative leave while the district conducts an investigation, according to Chris Case, director of North Kitsap School District's communications and community relations.

"We are cooperating with law enforcement and letting the legal process take its course," Case said.
