It’s snowing: Schools open two hours late

POULSBO -- All schools will open two hours late Dec. 20 because of inclement weather and road conditions, the North Kitsap School District reported.

Buses will run two hours late. There will be no morning kindergarten, pre-school, breakfast program, out-of-district transportation, and secondary zero-hour classes.

Morning classes at Olympic College will also start two hours late.

If conditions worsen and this status changes, the district will send an update out via SchoolMessenger, email and Facebook.

According to the National Weather Service, the snow will change to rain over the lowlands by 10 a.m. but will increase over the mountains. A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. PST. Lowland snow accumulation: 1 to 3 inches.
