Poulsbo man charged with assault on officer

PORT ORCHARD — Thomas B. Hedrick Jr., 21, of Poulsbo is charged in Kitsap County Superior Court with second- and third-degree assault.

According to the report, on July 15 Hedrick was celebrating his 21st birthday. While at a residence, he was asked to leave after acting disrespectfully, and several witnesses saw him drive away. Hedrick allegedly returned to the residence with a 2-foot-long tool, called a "breaker bar," and yelled threats.

When a Port Orchard officer arrived on scene, Hedrick allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted the officer. Breathalyzer tests showed his blood alcohol level was .146 and .138 when booked into jail, according to the report.

He was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $75,000 bail.
