Interpretive walk in Port Gamble

Walk an interpretive trail through the forest south of town with naturalist Jim Trainer on June 22 from 9-11 a.m. Trainer will find evidence of early-day logging activity and investigate a bear den. Logging roads and popular trails wind through this 3,880-acre block of land belonging to Pope Resources that is proposed for conservation as part of the Kitsap Forest & Bay Project.

The walk is two miles roundtrip on undulating terrain. Children are welcome. Meet at the Port Gamble General Store.
