Residents part of Task Force Marne
Army Reserve Maj. Kristen E. Carle and Army Capt. Bryan W. Morgan are is currently deployed as members of Task Force Marne, they are two of more than 20,000 soldiers from the Fort Stewart, Ga.-based 3rd Infantry Division and elements of the 101st Airborne Division from Fort Campbell, Ky. They are serving a 15-month tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The task force’s focus is on rebuilding efforts, including local governance and economic development, along with medical treatment missions, providing fresh drinking water and working with local security forces and volunteers to provide a broad blanket of stability to the region.
Carle is a mobile public affairs detachment commander with more than 17 years of military service.
She is the daughter of Harry and stepdaughter of Diane Carle of Poulsbo.
The major graduated in 1985 from Seattle Preparatory School and received a master’s degree in 1989 from Seattle University.
Morgan is a battle captain with the Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. He has served in the military for four years.
He is the son of William F. and Cynthia A. Morgan of Indianola.
The captain graduated in 1999 from North Kitsap High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 2004 from Washington State University, Pullman.
