KINGSTON — Sean M. Riley, 24, of Hansville is charged in Kitsap County District Court with second-degree trafficking in stolen property.
On March 8, the former owner of Emu Composting in Kingston reported a theft on the site. The former owner was contacted by a neighbor, who reportedly saw two 20-year-old males putting cable into a vehicle. The estimated value of 500 feet of the cable is $1,500, according to the former owner.
The neighbor recognized the suspect as an ex-employee, who allegedly told the neighbor the owner "gave me permission to do this."
A Kitsap County sheriff’s deputy contacted Navy City Metals, who confirmed Riley and another male brought in the wire to sell.
Riley was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $50,000 bail.
