POULSBO — Twenty-one dollars and 61 cents may not seem like a lot to most people, but that’s exactly what Sophie Strawbridge of Poulsbo gave as Bellringer continued exceeding all expectations.

In a note written to the Raab Foundation, the 4-year-old wrote, “I wanted to donate some of my Christmas money to help buy food for kids who need it.”

She also added a P.S.: “I also included money from my piggy bank.”

Others also made end-of-the-year donations to the fund as it climbed just beyond the $34,000 mark.

Bellringer, a part of the Raab Foundation, which is administered by the Poulsbo Noon Lions Club, provides one-time assistance of food, help with bills, emergency transportation and Christmas food baskets through the North Kitsap Fishline.

Donations can be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370.

The help number for the fund is (360) 697-6087.
