KINGSTON — While many witnessed firsthand the construction of the Dore family’s new home by ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew in November, those who couldn’t make it, plus the rest of America, will have the chance to see it for themselves this weekend.

The episode about the Kingston family — Roseanne, Jessica, Sarah and Aariel — is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Jan. 9 on ABC. Typically, the show takes the viewers through the whole process, from surprising the family with the announcement they were chosen to when they come back from a trip to Disney World and tour their new abode. The family and the home will also be featured on a new Extreme Makeover show at 8 p.m. Monday night on ABC called “How’d they do that?” This follow-up show features a behind-the-scenes look at how the house was built and what went into the effort.

Hot Shots Java Coffeehouse on Front Street in downtown Poulsbo will be showing both episodes on its 10-foot projection screen. Seating for the event starts at 7 p.m. and is on a first-come first-serve basis. There will be a 10 percent discount for anyone attending the event.

Hot Shots owners LeAnne and David Musgrove are inviting the Dore family to watch the show at the coffeehouse as well, David said.

“We’re excited that (ABC) did such a thing over here, in sleepy little Kitsap County,” he added.

Tequila’s Grill & Sports Bar will also show the episode Sunday evening.
