Dead woman found in Apple Tree Cove

KINGSTON — Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched for a report of dead woman floating in Apple Tree Cove Dec. 10.

The 60-year-old, who lived aboard a boat in the Kingston Marina with her husband, was found Friday morning within the stretch of beach between Arness Roadside Park and the marina.

According to KCSO’s report, the woman was at the Kingston Inn Wednesday night and was escorted to the south side of State Route 104 before she was left on her own.

On Thursday evening, her husband filed missing person’s report for his wife. Deputies matched the description of the report to description of the body and concluded it was the same woman.

KCSO spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson said the cause of death is unknown but noted that deputies had no reason to believe suspicious activity took place.

Kingston women busted with drugs

SUQUAMISH — Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the intersection of Division Avenue and Geneva Street at approximately 5 p.m. Dec. 6 for suspicious drug activity taking place in a parked car.

Deputies found a two women, a 37-year-old and 54-year-old, both of Kingston, sitting in the car at the intersection. Following a search of the car, deputies and a K-9 unit from Bainbridge Island found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The 37-year-old woman also had an active warrant for a DUI and was arrested at the scene. More drug paraphernalia was later found in her purse.

All the evidence was confiscated and charges concerning the 54-year-old were forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s office.

Mailboxes smashed in vandalism spree

EGLON — A newspaper delivery person reported damaged mailboxes to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office in the early morning of Dec. 5.

Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies checked the damaged property along Hoffman Road and Sunrise Beach Court. Deputies estimated 34 mailboxes had been smashed and the Sunrise Beach Court sign had been knocked over.

No suspects were identified.
