Thanksgiving Day closures and changes announced

POULSBO —Thanksgiving Day is a time for families to gather around the table and show their appreciation for all they have. It is also a day that brings a great deal of scheduled changes and closures.

Here’s a list of what some local offices and services will be doing the days surrounding Nov. 27.

City, County and State offices:

•All Department of Licensing driver licensing offices will be closed Nov. 27 and 28. More information is available at the DOL website at www.dol.wa.gov.

•Poulsbo City Hall and all city buildings will be closed.

•Poulsbo Municipal Court will be closed.

•The Poulsbo recreation center will be closed.

•Poulsbo Police business office will be closed. Officers will still be on duty and can be reached in an emergency by calling 911.

•Poulsbo Fire Department and North Kitsap Fire and Rescue headquarters will be closed. Emergency crews will still be on duty and can be reached in an emergency by calling 911.

•All branches of the Kitsap County Library system will close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26. They will be closed Nov. 27 and 28.

• Port of Poulsbo business office, guest moorage and fuel service will be closed.

• Port of Kingston business offices and fuel service will be closed. Guest moorage will be open.

• Kitsap County Moderate Waste Facility will be closed until Dec. 4.

• Drop boxes in Bainbridge Island, Hansville, Poulsbo, Silverdale and Olalla will be closed.

• Residential and commercial collection of garbage inside the Poulsbo city limits will remain on regular schedule.

•There will be no garbage, recycling or yard debris pick up by Bainbridge Disposal or Kitsap Disposal.

Grocery stores:

• Central Market in Poulsbo will be open regular hours.

• Poulsbo Market Place will be open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Poulsbo Albertson’s will be open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Poulsbo Red Apple will be open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Kingston Albertson’s will be open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Kingston Thriftway will be open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Transportation:

• Kitsap Transit will have no routed, ACCESS nor worker bus service.

• Seattle/Bainbridge ferry will be on holiday schedule.

• Kingston/Edmonds ferry will be on holiday schedule.

• Bremerton/Seattle vehicle ferry will be on holiday schedule.
