Spectrum student dies

KINGSTON — A 16-year-old Spectrum Community School Student died of a self-inflicted gun wound Oct. 29 in his Indianola residence, law enforcement officials said. A medical aid crew and Suquamish Police responded the 911 call, which was made at 4:15 p.m.

The victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he remained in critical condition during the night, Kitsap County Deputy and Public Information Officer Scott Wilson said. He was pronounced dead at 1:35 p.m. Oct. 30.

Counselors have been made available to assist grieving students at both Spectrum and North Kitsap High School.
