"Poulsbo Mayor Donna Jean Bruce attracted 49.36% of the vote (733 votes) in Tuesday's primary election. The second slot on the November mayoral ballot is still unknown as Sherry Appleton won 370 votes to Mike Regis's 378 votes in the first unofficial tally. Appleton and Regis will be kept in suspense until Sept.20 when the next mail-in ballots are counted. The final election results will be certified Sept. 28. North Kitsap School Board District 1 incumbent Dick Endresen secured 55.58% (3,682 votes) to have a comfortable lead for his seat. Myron A. Lee received 25.34% (1,679 votes) to earn the second spot on the ballot. Grant Romaine was eliminated from the rac e with 17.98% (1,191 votes) of the total vote. Kitsap County Auditor Karen Flynn believes the countywide mail-in ballot helped improve voter turnout for the election. "
