" COMING UP Wednesday, Dec. 13 is a half-day for all students in the North Kitsap School District. It's an instructional improvement day. WHAT'S HAPPENING KJH holiday concert set for Tuesday The Kingston Junior High band will be performing a holiday concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the community center, instead of the junior high. Holiday songs, a public play-a-long on Silent Night, and a cameo appearance by a visitor from the North Pole will be included. For donations, attendees may also get a CD with recordings by the wind ensemble and the jazz band. Horticulture scholarship offered Each year the Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club of Hansville grants a scholarship to a selected individual planning to follow a program in college in Horticulture or a related field of study. This year, the club is offering two scholarships, the second in memory of Verna Gover who was active in the club over the past years. Candidates must be a resident of the areas served by the community clubs or organizations of Driftwood Keys, Shorewoods, Cliffside, Little Boston, Eglon, Gamblewood, and Hansville. CKA presents band and choir concert Christ the King Academy will offer an all-school band and choir concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14 in the CMC Sanctuary. Sunrise school hosts open house today Sunrise School, a private elementary school in Kingston, will host an open house for all ages from 3-5 p.m. today at its new home in Arbor Business Park, 26121 Calvery Lane. The all-school Christmas concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14. The last day before break will be Dec. 15. NORTH KITSAP HIGH SCHOOL - There will be a PTA meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in the library. There will be a holiday choir concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 in the auditorium. BREIDABLIK ELEMENTARY - There is a room parent meeting at 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 14. The chess club will travel to Gordon Elementary from 4-7 p.m. on Dec. 14. HILDER PEARSON - Books, Bits and Bytes Night will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Dec. 12. The winter band and choir concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 at the community center. Dec. 19 will be the last day of school until Jan. 3. KINGSTON JUNIOR HIGH - There will be a band and choir concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12. There will be a half-day Dec. 13. There will be a PTA meeting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the library. There will be an ASB dance after school on Dec. 15. POULSBO JUNIOR HIGH - The National Junior Honors Society officer installation will occur at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12 in the library. POULSBO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Hearing test makeups will be done on Dec. 11. GORDON ELEMENTARY - Dec. 19 will be the last day of school for Gordon Elementary until Jan. 3. Gordon will host a chess tournament from about 4-7 p.m. on Dec. 14. DAVID WOLFLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL -There will be a fifth and sixth-grade band concert and first and second-grade winter program at 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 at the school. VINLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - The winter holiday program will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 15. Some classrooms will put on a productions, and the advanced and beginning bands will play. Parents are invitied. SUQUAMISH ELEMENTARY - There will be a band concert from 7-7:45 p.m. on Dec. 11 in the gym. WEST SOUND ACADEMY - The Italian club will cook traditional Italian sweetbread from 3-6 p.m. on Dec. 11. The garden club will meet at 3 p.m on Dec. 13. There will be a holiday program at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 at Suquamish Congregational Church. There will be a float trip on the Skagit River on Dec. 15. Students will then be dismissed for the winter holidays until Jan. 3. "
