"POULSBO - Two motorists were airlifted to Seattle and another was transported by ground unit to Bremerton after a partial head-on crash on Lincoln Road, about three miles east of Poulsbo. Poulsbo Fire Department and North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews were called to Lincoln's intersection with Widme Road shortly after noon Thursday. Poulsbo medics were the first to arrive at the scene and found two vehicles with heavy front end damage in the roadway. The two most seriously injured patients had been riding in a 1991 Ford Escort station wagon. The car's passenger, Gloria Lobberegt, 77, Hansville, was unconscious and not breathing. Firefighters helped Lobberegt breathe after using hydraulic tools to open the jammed passenger side door. She was quickly moved to a waiting Airlift Northwest helicopter and transported to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center for treatment of serious multiple injuries. According to Harborview Medical Center Lobberegt was in critical condition as of Friday morning. Joe Collier, 81, of Poulsbo was the Escort's driver was and conscious and alert when crews arrived. He was also airlifted to Harborview with possible chest and abdominal injuries. Both Collier and Lobberegt were apparently wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to Michèle Laboda, spokeswoman for the NKF&R and Poulsbo Fire Department. The other car, a Ford Thunderbird, sustained less front end damage. Its driver, Gary Zazuata, 36, Poulsbo, was transported by crews to Bremerton's Harrison Memorial Hospital for treatment of facial injuries, bumps and bruises. A dog had also been riding in the Escort, but bystanders at the scene reported that the canine bolted from the car through one of its blown-out windows shortly after the crash. It was last seen heading down Lincoln Road in the vicinity of Widme. Personnel from the Kitsap County Humane Society were called to search for the potentially-injured dog. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office. "
