"He was an effective, collaborative legislator during the last session, focusing his efforts on alternative funding for ferries and educational reform--two passions and two urgent issues for this community. He showed an ability to work effectively with legislators on both sides of the party line, Olympia staffers, and still find time to return phone calls and solve problems with his constitutents. He worked late into most nights on the ferry funding crisis, and effectively used his considerable previous governmental agency experience to work well with state agencies on developing funding options. When frustrated, he honed his wry sense of humor. Instead of indulging in angry outbursts on the floor, he worked to unite colleagues in task forces and committees. In short, he was very very effective as our representative, and deserves to be returned with a solid mandate. The other Phil in the race, Republican Phil Rasmussen, brings good ideas to the race, but not as much useful experence to the job. Reward a job well done, return Phil Rockefeller to the House. "
