"The easiest choice on your upcoming primary election ballot is the proposed mergers of Kitsap County Fire Protection District No. 14 into North Kitsap Fire & Rescue No. 10. We urge voters within that District to enthusiastically vote yes on Sept. 19. Here's what the proposed merger will provide: * 24-hour fire and aid service for the entire district. * Enhanced facilities and training support for the local volunteer program. Earlier this year, District 14 voters passed the levy increase needed to fund this merger. We enthusiastically encurge you to again support this merger with a yes vote. Then go out and thank everyone on both district fire boards who toiled behind the scenes and in public meetings for many months to make this merger happen. Their solution-oriented attitudes and attention to detail will save many lives over the years to come. "
