Suquamish Tribe will host Feb. 21 annual meeting with school board

SUQUAMISH — The North Kitsap School Board and council members from the Suquamish Tribe and Port Gamble SKlallam Tribe will have their annual joint meeting Feb. 21, 5:30 p.m., in the House of Awakened Culture, 7235 NE Parkway, Suquamish.

The meeting is open to the public.

Welcome and opening remarks will be made by Suquamish Chairman Leonard Forsman, followed by comments by School Board President Dan Weedin and Superintendent Patty Page.

There will be formal presentations and reports made on the following subjects:

— Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (Public Law 103-382)
— Indian Policies and Procedures Review
— Policy and Procedures for Federal Impact Aid Funds and Application Summary
— Financial Analysis of Federal Impact Aid
— Native American Education Program and Intertribal Parent Education Committee Report
— Port Gamble S’Klallam Education Program Report
— Suquamish Education Program Report.

Time will be provided for public comment.
