Woman injured in crash on Bond Road near Kingston
February 11, 2013 · 12:30 PM
KINGSTON — A Poulsbo woman was taken to a local hospital Monday after her late-model SUV crashed near the intersection of Bond Road and Port Gamble Road.
North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews were called to the scene just after 6:30 a.m. Callers to 911 reported seeing the vehicle, which had been headed toward Kingston, leave the roadway and come to rest in the brush several hundred feet from Bond Road.
The 65 year-old driver — the only occupant of the car — was wearing a lap and shoulder belt; all of the vehicle’s airbags had also deployed in the crash, NKF&R spokeswoman Michele Laboda reported. The driver was taken by paramedic unit to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
Travel along Bond Road between Poulsbo and Kingston was restricted to one lane for about 30 minutes. Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
