coronation ceremony an extensive fireworks show will light up Little Norway’s sky before the football players return to the field for the third quarter of play.

NKHS band director Susan Peters said she is particularly excited about the projected 150-200 people planning to participate in the parade.

“There is going to be 100 marching band members there,” she said. “There seems to be a strong sense of pride at North Kitsap High School and it shows. The whole evening of homecoming is going to be really great for North Kitsap and Poulsbo. All the school pride culminates with homecoming.”

Peters said students and faculty worked together to make the 50th anniversary of the current North Kitsap High School facility a big deal during this year’s homecoming celebration.

“We did a lot of brainstorming,” she said. “We wanted to get the community more involved and tried to figure out as many ways to do it as possible. We want the 50th anniversary to be a big deal.”
