Sustained high winds have forced the closure of the Hood Canal Bridge to motor vehicle traffic, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

It is unknown when the closure, which occurred at 4:30 p.m., will end, said Richard Langlois of WSDOT. ?The bridge span is opened during periods of sustained high-winds to protect the integrity of the structure. Motorists can get real-time traffic information about the SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge by calling (800) 419-9085.
