Bellringer Fund leaps to $6,275
June 10, 2008 · Updated 4:31 PM
Racing past the $5,000 milestone, donations for the Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation Bellringer Fund came in heaps this week, sending the fund soaring to a whopping $6,275. The fund is now $28,725 short of its record $35,000, and while plenty of generous community groups and individuals have already shown their support, the fund is still nearly $3,000 short of where it was this time last year.
The Lions Club is confident its lofty goal can be attained. Itll use Bellringer Funds to support local efforts, and help area residents in need of assistance with bills, food, emergency transportation and Christmas food baskets.
This is the funds 56th year of supporting local citizens in need, and the effort is a volunteer one, so almost all of the money raised goes right into community causes.
Mike Brooks of Mikes Car Wash and Detail is also donating $2 of every car washed during December. Mikes Car Wash is located at 19774 7th Avenue.
Donations to this years fund can be dropped off at Frontier Bank in Poulsbo, or at the North Kitsap Herald office. Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370.
The help number of the fund is (360) 697-6087.
Toys for Fishlines Toy Shop can also be dropped off at the North Kitsap Herald. Each year the Herald staff collects new toys and items for kids of all ages to help make the holidays that much brighter, which is one of the many reasons the Herald is proud to be your community newspaper. Bring new, unwrapped gifts to the office at 18887 Highway 305, Suite 700.
