Bellringer Fund nears $10,000
June 10, 2008 · Updated 4:31 PM
Another $3,061 came in to the Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation Bellringer Fund as community members continue to spread holiday cheer and support to those less fortunate. Now $25,664 away from reaching its record $35,000 goal, the Poulsbo Lions Club is hoping area residents continue to bring in contributions to the cause, which goes to support those in need with bills, food, emergency transportation and Christmas baskets.
The fund is more than $4,000 short of where it was to date last year, and its goal is $5,000 higher.
This is the funds 56th year of supporting local citizens in need, and the effort is a volunteer one, so that almost all of the money raised goes right back into community causes.
Mike Brooks of Mikes Car Wash and Detail is also donating $2 of every car washed in the months of November and December. Mikes Car Wash is located at 19774 7th Avenue.
Donations to this years fund can be dropped off at Frontier Bank in Poulsbo, or at the North Kitsap Herald office. Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370. The help number of the fund is (360) 697-6087.
