POULSBO — Construction of the Bond Road Sanitary Sewer Force Main will start on Monday, and traffic delays should be expected through the middle of May.

Alternate routes are suggested.

The new sewer force main will pump sewage from the Lindvig Way sewer lift station to the new Bond Road sewer lift station. This will allow the city to redirect the flow of sewer away from the Liberty Bay Force Main, which runs along the beach from Liberty Bay Auto to Waterfront Park.

Crews will work at night from April 21-25 at the Lindvig Way and Bond Road intersection. Traffic on Front Street and Lindvig Way will be reduced to one alternating lane from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. No lane restrictions will occur in the intersection outside of the night work hours.

During the day, paving and saw cutting will occur from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.

The majority of the work will take place on Bond Road, where the contractor will need to restrict traffic to a single, alternating one-way lane work zone. Construction will begin on both ends of Bond Road at the same time and will meet in the middle to expedite the project.

The work will be done by Peninsula Civil Contractors Inc. of Gig Harbor.
