HOLLISTER, Calif. — The body located in a Hollister home has been officially identified as that of Heather Alaina Carroll, 25, a Hollister resident and former Suquamish woman who was reported missing Oct. 10.

The preliminary cause of death has been determined to be a combination of blunt force trauma and strangulation, according to a news released issued by the Hollister Police Department.

On Monday, Hollister police investigators, San Benito County Sheriff’s detectives and San Benito County District Attorney investigators attended the autopsy. Forensic pathologist John Hain, MD, conducted the autopsy at the Monterey County Coroner’s Office in Salinas, Calif.

Hain’s final official cause of death is pending a routine toxicology blood examination.

Suspect David Jose Quiroz is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in San Benito County Superior Court on charges involved with Carroll’s murder.
