POULSBO — In an effort to ensure children get the nutrition they need, North Kitsap Fishline has created the Backpack Friends Sponsorship Program.

Donations can be made to four different sponsorship levels: a child for one month ($25); for one semester ($100); for one year ($250); and a month-long sponsorship for an entire school ($1,000).

The sponsorship program is part of Food For Thought, which provides food for the weekend to students living or going to school in Poulsbo, Keyport and Suquamish.
