t Volunteers take

out the garbage.

Instead of shaking their heads at the accumulating roadside garbage in Kingston, volunteers are picking it up.

Headed by the Kingston Revitalization Association, roadside volunteers meet at 9 a.m. this Saturday at the John L. Scott building in Kingston.

The group will provide garbage bags and safety vests but recommend bringing gloves.

“It’s a lot of fun, especially with good weather,” said Karen Ross, member of the Kingston Revitalization Association. “People feel really good about this and it has made a big difference in the community. When it looks really nice we get less garbage.”

Ross said previous clean-ups never lasted longer than two hours and volunteers can expect to be done by 11 a.m. For more information contact Ross at (360) 297-0316.
