KINGSTON — A man’s home and the majority of his possessions were destroyed when two trailers burned Tuesday afternoon off Neat Avenue.

North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews arrived to find two trailers on fire. Crews were dispatched at 1:16 p.m. after a neighbor called 9-1-1, according to a report by the fire department.

An investigator from the Kitsap County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. Early reports have led the investigator to believe the fire was accidental, according to the report.

The man, whose age was not given, was living in one trailer between 18 and 20 feet in length. His possessions were being stored in another. According to the report, the man was at work during the fire.

A nearby pump house was saved. Crews put the fire out within 15 minutes of their arrival.

There were no injuries.

According to the report, officials will help the man who lived in the trailer connect with American Red Cross to provide assistance and temporary lodging, if he wants.
