Unattended Kingston death sparks rumors

KINGSTON — Authorities say there is no evidence of foul play in the unattended death of a 46-year-old Kingston woman.

An autopsy, to include toxicology testing, is scheduled to be performed by the county's forensic pathologist. The Kitsap County Coroner will make a determination as to cause and manner of death. A Kitsap County Sheriff's patrol deputy responded to a 9-1-1 report of an unattended death in an apartment at 26243 Pennsylvania Ave. on Sept. 9 at 7:45 p.m., according to sheriff spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson. Comments on the social network site Facebook were written by residents who, seeing deputies at the scene, suspected a crime had occurred. That is not the case, Wilson said Monday.

Upon arrival, the deputy met with North Kitsap Fire & Rescue personnel and the apartment complex manager and was briefed on what they knew. The deputy conducted the initial examination of the scene and the deceased. The deputy conducted a second examination with a  Kitsap County deputy coroner.

Both examinations did not reveal anything that would suggest that the woman's death was suspicious. As a matter of policy, sheriff's detectives also went to the scene and conducted an examination and analysis of the scene, Wilson said.
