Competitive Sailing camp for Kitsap students

BAINBRIDGE — An after-school program designed for sailors looking to learn and expand their double-handed sailing skills in Flying Juniors begins in September.

Fundamental boat handling will be covered extensively, with an emphasis on learning to race competitively. This six-week program is a precursor for those looking to gain more double-handed sailing experience, learning competitive racing, or joining high school sailing in the future.

A mandatory meeting is Sept. 5 at Strawberry Hill Center at 6 p.m.  Season fee is $129, regatta expenses not included.

The program runs 3:30-5:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays Sept. 10 through Oct. 17 at Bainbridge Waterfront Park.

Participants must have passed the Sailing 3 program, an equivalent program, or have sailing coordinator approval to enroll in this program. Contact Jeff Ozimek, (206) 842-2306 ext. 115 or jeff@biparks.org.
