Local school boards will elect state board member

OLYMPIA — Applications are being accepted from candidates for Western Region Position 4 on the state Board of Education.
The board member will be selected by a vote of school board members in 19 Western Washington counties. The state board is composed of 16 members.
Candidates must be residents of the region and cannot serve on a local or private school board or be employed and cannot be employed by a public or private school, college, university, educational service district, or the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. State board members may not concurrently serve on public or private school boards.
