POULSBO — Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies were in a two-hour standoff Wednesday afternoon with a Poulsbo resident suspected in the string of North End burglaries. Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies were camped out at apartment complex on Hostmark Street where they suspected that Christopher Berg, 23, was inside one of the apartments. Deputies have been searching for Berg and two others they believe to be associated with the North End burglary ring since five arrests were made last month. School officials took precautions to ensure the safety of the students at nearby Poulsbo Middle School, North Kitsap High School and Poulsbo Elementary. For complete coverage, read the Saturday edition of the North Kitsap Herald.
