POULSBO — An 80-year-old Bainbridge Island woman drove her car into Liberty Bay off Lemolo Drive, but was able to walk away.
A vehicle in the water was reported off Lemolo Drive near Johnson Way at 1:15 p.m. Thursday. The woman was not injured, and declined to be transported to the hospital via ambulance, according to Jody Matson, spokesperson for Poulsbo Fire. The cause of her one-car collision is unknown at this time.
A Bainbridge Island police officer said two cars were heading south. The driver in the rear called 9-1-1 to report the other car had "turned off" the road and was in the water.
The older model red sedan drove through trees and brush along the slope, and hit the deck of a small storage house built over the water.
Kitsap County Sheriff deputies are investigating.
This report will be updated as more information becomes available.
