Teen hit by car on Mesford Street

POULSBO — A 13-year-old Poulsbo teen was taken away in an ambulance just before 11:30 a.m. June 20 after being hit by a car on Mesford Street while was riding a scooter.
According to Poulsbo Fire spokeswoman Jody Matson the child was conscious. The 13-year-old was not wearing a helmet, but was transported to Harrison Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Poulsbo Fire's Facebook page.
The collision occurred next to the Mariner's Landing residential area, between Schooner Court NE and Karl Court NE.
The vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old Poulsbo male. The car's windshield was cracked on the driver-side due to the collision. Those involved refused an interview.
An investigation is currently underway by law enforcement.
