Woodward is leaving North Kitsap School District

POULSBO — Shawn Woodward, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning in the North Kitsap School District, is heading to Idaho after the 2011-12 school year.

Woodward accepted a superintendent position at the Lake Pend Oreille School District in Sandpoint, Idaho. Woodward’s last day with NKSD is June 30. Woodward began working in the district in July 2008.

He is the second administrative employee this year to accept a position in another school district. Aaron Leavell, director of secondary education in NKSD, accepted the assistant superintendent position in the Bremerton School District. He will begin his new job next school year.

“While I am excited about the opportunity to be superintendent in the Lake Pend Oreille School District, I will miss the excellent staff, students and communities of the North Kitsap School District,” Woodward said in a press release. “I am proud of the great work we have done together in many areas, especially in the area of professional learning communities. The dedication of staff to ensure high levels of learning for all students is amazing ...”

Woodward earns $113,975 per year and $28,007.95 in benefits.
