POULSBO — Poulsbo City Councilman Ed Stern was recently elected vice president of the Puget Sound Regional Council Economic Development District Board.
Stern has served on the board since 2008. He was recognized for his active participation in economic development in Kitsap County, where he represents the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council on the executive board of the Kitsap Economic Development Alliance, as well as regionally in Puget Sound.
The Economic Development District consists of appointed membership of board members selected from the 81 cities and four counties of the Puget Sound region — King, Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish — as well as the tribal governments, port districts and private sector businesses.
The Economic Development District reviews and ranks, for funding and grant purposes, federal Economic Development Agency projects. The district also develops the region’s strategy for economic development.
Stern has served on the board of directors of the Association of Washington Cities in Olympia since 2008. He has served on the Poulsbo City Council since January 1998.
