9 Kingston High School students honored at mall display unveiling

KINGSTON — Artwork by nine Kingston High School students are included in floor medallions unveiled Oct. 1 at Kitsap Mall.
The KHS students: Kaitlen Ashley, Andrew Beversluis, McKenzie Clark, Mayra Gonzalez, Darren Guin, Caleb Haughawout, Sarah Hill, Maddi Miller and Michael Simmons.
Local high school art teachers were invited to have their students submit drawings of a Pacific Northwest icon representing nature. Twenty-three drawings were selected out of hundreds from Bainbridge Island High School, Kingston High School, Port Townsend High School and South Kitsap High School.
The medallions were created by metal sculptor James Kelsey of Port Orchard.
