Public hearing Oct. 4 on adopting String of Pearls Trail Plan

PORT ORCHARD — The Kitsap County Planning Commission will have a public hearing next week on making the North Kitsap Trails Association’s String of Pearls Trail Plan an official part of the county Comprehensive Plan.

The hearing is Oct. 4, 6 p.m., in the Commissioners Chambers at the Kitsap County Administration Building, 610 Division St., Port Orchard.

The North Kitsap Trails Association and the county have also scheduled joint meetings in various locations in North Kitsap: Oct. 20 at the Kingston Firehouse; Oct. 26 in the Poulsbo City Hall Council Chambers; and Nov. 7 on Bainbridge Island.

Based on public comment and the subsequent recommendation of the Planning Commission, the plan is scheduled to come before the Board of County Commissioners for a public hearing on Nov. 14.
