Free shuttle service to Stand Down for Veterans Sept. 13 at fairgrounds

Clothing, financial assistance, foreclosure information, free haircuts and groceries, housing, legal counseling, lunch, VA health care enrollment, and more will be offered to veterans at the Fall 2011 Kitsap County Stand Down for Veterans and Their Families, in the Presidents Hall at the county fairgrounds.

The Stand Down is Sept. 13, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. DD214 is required for entry; veterans are asked to bring several copies of their DD214 for other services. For more information, visit www.kitsapgov.com/hr/wsolympic/veterans/VA.htm.

Free shuttle service starts at 9 a.m. in North, Central and South Kitsap.

NORTH KITSAP (About every hour, Suquamish Clearwater Casino van).

— 9 a.m., main entrance, Clearwater Casino, Suquamish.

— 9:10 a.m., main entrance of Gateway Fellowship church, 8th and Hostmark, Poulsbo.

— 9:30 a.m., arrive County Fairgrounds

— Continue circuit. Last fairgrounds departure 2:30 p.m.

 

CENTRAL KITSAP (About every hour, Salvation Army van).

— 9 a.m., Salvation Army, 832 6th St.

— 9:10 a.m., The Hub at Hillcrest Assembly of God, 6750 State Highway 303

— 9:20 a.m., arrive County Fairgrounds.

— Continue circuit. Last fairgrounds departure 2:30 p.m.

 

SOUTH KITSAP (About every 30 minutes, DAV and Harper Church vans)

— 9 a.m., South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank, 1012 Mitchell, Port Orchard.

— 9:10 a.m., Kitsap Community Resources, 1211 Bay St., Port Orchard.

— 9:30 a.m., second van departs Food Bank.

— 9:40 a.m., second van departs Kitsap Community Resources.
