LITTLE BOSTON — Little Boston Road was blocked Thursday afternoon as firefighters extinguished a blaze in a vacant house.

The fire was originally reported as a commercial structure fire in a church near Little Boston Lane at 3:40 p.m., according to a statement from North Kitsap Fire & Rescue. North Kitsap Fire crews quickly knocked down the flames. Law enforcement confirmed the building was vacant and not being used as a church.

Water tenders blocked the road for more than an hour as firefighters extinguished remaining hot spots.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
