Kingston boys in state basketball semifinals; game starts at 5:30 p.m. today | State 2A Basketball Tournament

YAKIMA — The Kingston Buccaneers meet the Squalicum Storm in the State 2A Boys Basketball Tournament semifinals today, 5:30 p.m., in the Yakima Valley Sundome.
The Buccaneers were 16-4 in their fourth regular season; Squalicum, the two-time defending state champ, was 13-7.
A win today and the Buccaneers face either Burlington-Edison or Clover Park on Saturday 9 p.m., for the state title. A loss, and the Buccaneers meet the loser of the Burlington-Edison/Clover Park game for a chance at third, Saturday at 11:15 a.m.

Kingston advanced to the semifinals Thursday, blazed past the West Valley Eagles of Spokane 67-47. The Buccaneers were buoyed by a 28-point performance by Zane Ravenholt. The victory put Kingston within two wins of a state championship and the team can place no lower than fifth in the tournament.
